ABOUT US

The Islamic Society of Greenville (ISG) provides religious, educational, and outreach services in the Greenville, South Carolina area.

The objective of ISG is to enable the Muslim community in Greenville, SC to practice Islam according to the Qur’an and the Sunnah (Tradition) of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Another objective of ISG is to provide non-Muslims in the Greenville, SC area with the proper information about Islam.

The ISG facilities include the Masjid located at 96 Meridian Ave, Taylors, SC 29687; the Upstate Islamic Center (UIC) campus located at 1601 Clement Road, Greer, SC 29650; and a Graveyard located in Ware Shoals, SC about 50 miles from the Masjid. The Masjid hosts the five daily prayers, the Weekend School, and a body-washing facility for the deceased. The UIC campus houses a multi-purpose hall used for Friday prayer, Taraweeh prayers, Ramadan Iftar, Eid prayers, community events, and is open for reservation by the community at large. In addition, the UIC campus houses buildings for our full time Islamic school; As-Sabeel Academy. The campus also has a playground, a picnic shelter, and a soccer field.

Our community is quite diverse, with members from several cultures. We welcome visitors and anyone who wants to learn about the religion of Islam and about our community.
